CMS - to be completed December 2009
Craig Middle School is housed in a new building which is being built in two phases. Phase one, the classrooms, commons, library and office areas, was completed in the fall of 2009. Phase two includes the band and music rooms, PE locker rooms, and an auxilliary gym. Phase two will be completed in December 2009.
The middle school houses grades 6, 7 and 8, and is located on an 18 acre campus that includes two large P.E. fields, football field, baseball field, industrial arts classroom and shop.
The school is equipped with classrooms containing up-to-date computer/audio-visual equipment and materials to complement the educational program, which stresses the improvement of basic learning skills. The Instructional Materials Center includes a computerized information search and check out system, and has an excellent collection of materials for both students and faculty members.
The central core of the instructional program focuses on the basic subjects of language arts, reading, mathematics, social studies, science, physical education, art, industrial arts, and computer skills. Elective courses include: choir, band, foreign language, speech and drama, teen topics, and specialized computer classes.
CMS places great emphasis on maintaining a positive school climate and close communication with parents, including regular progress reports, report cards and regularly scheduled parent/teacher conferences.
There is an interscholastic sports program for both boys and girls. Sports include: football, volleyball, basketball, wrestling, and track.
